Introduction to Self Psychedelic Integration

In the work of Internal Family Systems (IFS) we hold that each of us has a solid core Self, whole and eternal. Different spiritual traditions refer to this as Soul, Spirit, Atman, Grounded Self, Buddha Nature, noself, etc. It is the essence of our pure being beyond personality.

We also have parts that we also confuse for our Authentic Self. Wounded parts, managing parts, protective parts, and so on. All of these parts, or subpersonalities, have somatic (bodily) expression. The psycho-spiritual work of IFS is aimed at relieving parts from the burdens they carry, integrating them within whole system, and, ultimately, discovering and living our lives from that Eternal, Wise Self.

IFS is not just a form of therapy, it is a model of somatic psycho-spiritual practice that intersects well with the sacred and sometimes challenging medicine journeys people take. IFS has been shown to be an effective model for working with psychedelic experiences.  Self Psychedelic Integration™ combines the practices and wisdom of Internal Family Systems, Somatic Psychotherapy, the Expressive and Creative Arts, and Psychedelic Harm Reduction Integration.

Self-Psychedelic Integration™ training is open to both clinicians and nonclinicans because, while it is helpful for Integrative Psychedelic Professionals to know and effectively work within the IFS framework, not everyone wants to, nor can afford to, work with an integrative psychedelic professional.

This training is both didactic and experiential. Because the root of all of our dysfunctions as humans is disconnection, this training will be interactive. To enhance the connectivity, participants are asked to come ready to engage fully with videos on.

This training will address:

  • The fundamentals of IFS theory
  • Tools of working with parts
  • Cultivating Self-led engagement
  • IFS and nonordinary states of consciousness (NOSC)
  • Journey preparation (IFS, somatic, creative arts, contraindications)
  • Day of Journey preparation and support
  • Following Journey integrative techniques

Investment:

This introductory course is the first step in Self Psychedelic Integration Certification, which will be coming in 2023. The investment for this 6-hour zoom course is $300 US along with the cost of supplies participants will be asked to have on hand.
