What Others Have To Say About Me
I’ve been practicing Somatic Therapy with Sabrina for nearly a year now. During this time we’ve focused primarily on my Internal Family Systems (IFS), and under her guidance I’ve taken leaps and bounds towards both understanding and healing many parts of me previously untouched and/or unrecognized by traditional psychotherapy. She has been incredibly comforting, insightful and welcoming since day one, and I always feel safe—something I’ve found to be extremely important for me.
I’m astounded by the compassionate self-awareness I’ve experienced in my time with Sabrina, and I would highly recommend her to anyone.

I think I've been coming for about two years for somatic therapy. You have helped me in more ways than I can possibly write down. From the beginning you helped me to be comfortable. You were the first person I really "let in." I could tell you anything I wanted and I never had to worry about being judged. Most of the time you knew exactly how I was feeling and were appropriately self-disclosing to help me understand that I wasn't alone. You made me feel like you cared and that there was nothing more important than my well-being. I've never experienced this type of therapy before but I've come to realize that it's very valuable. I don't believe that another person could have done this type of therapy and have gotten through to me as effectively as you have. What I'm writing doesn't do justice to your compassion and caring. I have seen another therapist for 11 years in talk therapy but somatic therapy was a way I could express myself more intimately. I'm sad to see you leave but it makes me so happy to know you'll further your education to help someone else.

As someone who has dealt with chronic back pain and recurrent sciatica since high school, I have experimented with various types of massage and “body work” over the years. With a formerly herniated disk, scoliosis, and plenty of aches and pains, I find that many types of massage feel good in the moment but do not provide a lasting healing effect. I used to visit a Feldenkrais practitioner or a cranial-sacral worker when the pain got bad, but in recent years they both stopped practicing, so a friend recommended that I sign up for a session with Sabrina.
I have only had two sessions with Sabrina, but I would highly recommend her to other people who are working on healing from chronic pain. I feel that Sabrina is an effective healer because she actively solicits information and advice about what hurts and what particular kinds of bodywork would be most useful to each person. She also has great intuition about how to unlock stiff and knotted muscles. She seems to approach people and bodies with a lot of respect. She mainly used trigger point therapy with me, along with craniosacral work and deep tissue work, as well.

Whether I need a "tune up" or deep muscle massage, I can always
count on Sabrina to identify my special issues and then treat them with
great skill. She is also very helpful in prescribing exercises to deal
with not only the issues that prompt my appointment with her but also
chronic issues with my neck, right shoulder, and (no surprise!) lower back.
During treatments Sabrina will engage or not engage in conversation,
depending on the preferences of the patient. When she does speak, she offers
practical, common-sense observations on the mixed-up world in which we
live. I am sorry she is leaving Madison. I hope she can recommend me to
somebody who is her clone.

I have been coming to see you for over four years and you have asked where it hurts and then work on the area. You have reduced pain and have given me good advice including when to buy new gym shoes. You find out where it hurts. I feel very comfortable and safe with you all the time. You are smart, kind, funny and professional. You always seem at ease and you put others at ease and are an excellent conversationalist.
I have really appreciated your treatment, your advice and your good judgment. A 77 year old achy body needs a lot of help and you provided it. I also appreciated your personality - your ready wit and your lack of any need to impress other people, which really impressed me.
There are many more things I could and should say but words prove inadequate. Thanks for your suggestions of therapists. The problem is you are not substitutable.
